Remaining closeto nature
The biodynamic principles according to which the Seppi Vineyards have been operated since 2005 were inspired by the philosophy of Rudolf Steiner. These principals have been adapted to the 21st century. At first, practical training with Andrew Lorand proved invaluable. But continuing seminars and the exchange of ideas with colleagues and experts are still essential for our operations. At the Seppi Vineyards, we attach special importance to the conservation and preservation of biodiversity, the protection of useful flora and fauna, and the promotion of plant health. This is achieved, e.g., through the cultivation of other plants amongst the vines to boost diversity in the undergrowth, the use of biodynamic preparations (e.g., horn silica, horn manure, various composts) and the use of various infusions (e.g., nettles, chamomile, horsetails), but especially the optimal manual care and attention we devote to our grapevines at the proper times. The Seppi Vineyards are EU-bio-certified, and undergoes regular checks by the Demeter Association.
